What to expect

Your first visit is an opportunity to explain your concerns, discuss your goals, and understand the next step. A physical therapy evaluation generally includes your health history and an assessment of relevant movement and function. The findings help shape a care plan. APTA: preparing for your visit

At LUX, a full-body approach means considering how you move and what your daily life asks of you alongside the area that hurts.

You can ask questions throughout the appointment. If you have concerns about a treatment or recommendation, bring them into the conversation.

What to bring and wear

Wear clothing that lets you move comfortably and allows the area being assessed to be examined. Bring a medication list, relevant records, and any referral or postoperative instructions you have received. APTA: preparing for your visit

Think of one or two activities you would like to do more comfortably or confidently. They can be ordinary things: taking the stairs, sleeping more comfortably, or getting through your usual workout.
